Over the years,

Maciej Zień and I have created quite a few beautiful things together. It’s a long story of shared projects, ideas and experiments with fashion and graphic design. Today, I’m sharing one of the smaller projects, but definitely one of my personal favorites.
ZIEŃ 1979 is a typographic logo designed for a casual clothing line. Inspired by classic baseball script lettering, featuring a distinctive swash, an extended decorative letterform that underlines the entire wordmark. The design also incorporates Maciej’s birth year as an integral part of the composition.
The idea was simple. To create a distinctive graphic element that could be used across different pieces of clothing. A small design that works just as well at a tiny scale as it does when enlarged. Simple and legible, yet full of detail and character. Because, surprisingly, it’s often these little things that turn out to be quite a design challenge.
