This was a really interesting project for me.
It started as a competition to design a T-shirt graphic for the Polish release of Game of Thrones.
It started as a competition to design a T-shirt graphic for the Polish release of Game of Thrones.
Apart from the materials provided by HBO, I wanted to give myself an additional challenge and bring 3D into the project. I decided to create and sculpt a chrome-like metal head inspired by the swords forming the Iron Throne, combined with the symbol of House Lannister.
The 3D element added much more depth to the final artwork. I wanted the whole composition to feel as if it was lit by the warm light of a fire, with the metal surfaces catching the glow. It also allowed me to place a crown on the skull and use its reflective surface to show subtle scenes of battle.
My goal was to keep the artwork realistic and cinematic, closer to a movie poster than a typical T-shirt graphic, while still making sure the final design could be produced using screen printing.
